We’re excited to launch our #TakeBackPride campaign with Malcolm Michaels Jr. aka Marsha P. Johnson, a gay man and drag queen in mid-twentieth century New York City.
He was a founding member of the Gay Liberation Front and a prominent figure in the Stonewall riots of 1969.
There have been claims that he “threw the first brick at Stonewall” however this has been disputed by eyewitnesses and his own testimony.
Malcolm remains one of the most celebrated LGBT activists to this day!
