Understanding our mission and principles.
Our Mission, Principles and Goals
We, the members of Not All Gays, present our manifesto outlining our vision, goals, and commitments. Our organization is dedicated to promoting the rights of lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) individuals and ensuring the safety and well-being of children. Through our efforts, we aim to create a society that embraces differences in opinion and belief, upholds LGB rights, and prioritizes child safeguarding.
Mission:
Our mission is to foster a safe and inclusive environment that promotes the distinct rights of LGB people whilst ensuring the protection of children and young people. We are dedicated to pushing back against policymakers making legislative decisions that will negatively impact LGB people and ensuring child safeguarding in schools, youth groups, healthcare etc.
Principles:
LGB Rights: We advocate for the unique rights of lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals in all aspects of life, including education, employment, healthcare, housing, and marriage. We strive to protect same-sex attracted individuals’ right to freedom of opinion, as enshrined in Article 40.6.1.i of Bunreacht na hEireann. We do not believe same-sex attraction is a preference or a choice.
We define ‘sex’ on the grounds of the Equal Status Act 2000 Section 3(2), which prohibits discrimination based on gender (male and female), including sexual orientation.
Child Safeguarding: We prioritise the safety and well-being of children, with focus on discussions of LGBT issues. We are dedicated to creating educational resources that promote a safe environment for children, free from any form of abuse, discrimination, or exploitation. As LGB people, we understand the importance of using clear, fact-based language with regard to sexuality and identity issues.
Advocacy: We are dedicated to advocating for policy changes that advance the rights and well-being of LGB people. We actively engage with policymakers, legislators, and government agencies to promote legal protections and eliminate discrimination in all forms.
Research and Development: We strive to create a more informed and supportive society by promoting evidence-based research initiatives that explore the needs, experiences and challenges faced by LGB people.
Not All Gays is committed to promoting the rights of LGB individuals and ensuring the safeguarding of children. Through education and advocacy, we aim to foster an accepting society where everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, can live with dignity, equality, and freedom from discrimination or prosecution.
